ROBERT M. PRICE, Exective Director

Bob Price is the retired CEO and Chairman of Control Data.

He joined the company as a Mathematician Staff Specialist in 1961, became the Director of International Operations in 1963, the Vice President of Services in 1972 and President and Chief Operating Officer in 1980.

He succeeded William C. Norris (the company's founder) as CEO and Chairman of the Board and was instrumental in leading Control Data's early expansion.

Mr. Price led Control Data's strategic move from hardware into information and systems integration services, principally through the start-up and growth of small subsidiary companies. He retired in May 1990 after 29 years with Control Data.

In 1985 Price led a consortium of corporations and individuals in the founding of the National Center for Social Entrepreneurs (NCSE). The Center's mission is to encourage entrepreneurship throughout the non-profit sector, and to help individual not profits create or expand social purpose business ventures.

His early experience at Control Data in the formation and successful start-up of small information services companies, and later in directing the company's corporate mission of fulfilling unmet societal needs as profitable business opportunities, provided the background and experience for this undertaking. He currently serves as Chairman of NCSE. In addition to NCSE, Price has had extensive involvement as a volunteer and served for many years on the Board of the United Way of the Greater Minneapolis Area.

Price has had a long-standing involvement in education as an educator himself, as a businessman and as a consultant to education at the elementary, secondary, under-graduate and graduate levels. He has taught in the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University for 15 years, and currently is an Adjunct Professor in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke.

He has been published in a variety of noteworthy business publications, he has served a guest lecturer of numerous colleges and universities, including Johnson School of Business, Cornell University; Carlson School of Business, the University of Minnesota; the Kellogg School, Northwestern University and has recently authored a new book, entitled: The Eye for Innovation, which presents seven basic principles for the strategic management of technology and innovation.

DAVE PARKER, Director of Training Services

With nearly 20 years of marketing, product development, sales and management experience Dave Parker serves as N.C.S.E's National Director of Training.

Early in his career, he directed all marketing and new product development for Matrix Marketing, Inc., a $600 million subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell. During his time with Matrix, he worked with a variety of Fortune 500 companies such as American Express, Bank One and Ralston Purina to develop customized technology solutions that helped them address their client's needs.

In 1995 Parker was a founding member of PoleStar Group, LLC., an interactive advertising agency specializing in travel industry promotions. Key clients included FirstUSA, Holland-America Cruise Lines and America West Airlines.

In 1987, he founded Cause Impact, Inc. and begin to with nonprofit organizations to further their capacity to generate earned income revenue.

Today, he works directly with N.C.S.E.'s regional facilitators and provides them the resources and support services they need to help their clients succeed. He is currently involved in the design and development of the N.C.S.E. learning lab and resource center enjoys helping organizations think and act in a more entrepreneurial manner.
